Avontuur Vegetable Tunnel

The Avontuur Vegetable Tunnel project grows organic vegetables. It is located at the Avontuur LB Primary School and is aimed at teaching the children how to grow vegetables whilst also keeping the busy in the afternoons.

They receive funding from 3 sources (The first two via UNIEP and the third direct):

• Old Mutual - Once of Donation of R50000
• Department of Social Development 15 month commitment
• Eden District Municipality

This is what it looks like - Tunnel not yet erected.

Here is a group of children from Avontuur Primary School.  They are going to be taught about organic agriculture as part of the Avontuur Vegetable Garden project.
